En se rendant à Sheffield Robert Plant et John Bonham sont tombés en panne à cause de la Bentley de ce dernier. Ils furent obligés de continuer en stop, il pleuvait des cordes et Robert Plant attrapa froid, ce qui entraîna le report des deux dates suivantes.

Le concert de Sheffield eut quand même lieu et les faiblesses de Robert dans les aigus furent compensés par un Jimmy Page en très grande forme. Bootleg : SHEFFIELD 1973 (No label 2 CD).

Ils retournèrent en Angleterre jusqu'au concert de Paris. Robert parle de la soirée de la veille : "Merci Beaucoup. Can't hear ah, but that's not so bad. That's OK. Last night, not so good. The people were great, but lot's of people smash the windows and things. Tonight we're gonna have a good time, yeah ? This is a track off the new album. It's called Houses of the Holy reccord. This is called The Song Remains the Same".

LIVE IN SEATTLE lui a No Quarter que n'a pas V1/2 et le meilleur pour la fin : ON TOUR qui est le même que V1/2 mais de source différente, il a un excellent son.

Le groupe, pendant ce temps là, partit faire une fête organisé par Ahmet Ertegun, PDG d'Atlantic. Plus tard, Led Zeppelin prendra une année sabatique entrecoupée d'apparitions ça et là avec des amis.

Puis Robert Plant eut une opération des cordes vocales qui l'empêcha de parler pendant 3 semaines. Cette opération n'a jamais été éventée par la presse, la révélation en a été faite par Robert Plant lui même en 1988 dans une interview pour un journal écossais.
